IndyCar Returns to Dancing With The Stars!

When it comes to on-track activity, some of the talk was around James Hinchcliffe getting the call as one of the cast members for the twenty-third season of Dancing With The Stars.

In all actuality, it was rumored that Alexander Rossi could also be a member of the cast as well.

Let’s break down both of these potentially cast members, shall we?

On one side, you have James Hinchcliffe, a popular Canadian racer who calls himself the “Mayor of Hinchtown.”  His followers pretty much are the citizens of Hinchtown.

Hinchcliffe’s energy on and off track is simply amazing as he always comes up with something funny and witty to say during interviews, even if he was stuck in his car off track one year for the entire race because there wasn’t any other cautions.

Most drivers would show frustration with that and for being out of the race.  However, Hinchcliffe kind of laughed it off with his team and had a good time in his interview.  His off-season videos make fans want IndyCar races back as soon as possible so you can go trackside and enjoy his energy and light heartedness on life.  Consider the fact that he nearly lost his life from a practice crash last year at Indy, which led to the return of Ryan Briscoe.

James Hinchcliffe would be great to have on national TV representing the sport of IndyCar and it’s not far fetched to imagine that the entire cast would love his jokes.

Is there an Alexander Rossi calling to Dancing With The Stars in the future?

Is there an Alexander Rossi calling to Dancing With The Stars in the future?

In the other corner, we have the rookie Alexander Rossi who did the unthinkable and won the 100th running of the Indy 500 in his rookie attempt.  No one has done that since Helio Castroneves back in ’01.  He pulled off the win on the hundred running of “The Greatest Spectacle on Earth” and oh yeah, he is also American born.

The California native started out in an F1 program as he made five starts for Manor Racing in last year.  His dream had always been to driver in F1 and race internationally, which may happen after his impressive Indy 500 win.

Rossi is still pretty new to the whole sport and you can tell in his interviews.  He tends to be a bit shy in front of a camera, but that will change as he races on a bigger stage where TV interviews are a must.  He does have a very impressive story, but who did the show pick?

Ultimately, James Hinchcliffe will be trading in his Stop and Go shoes for a pair of dance shoes, as he has been paired with Sharna Burgess, an Australian professional dancer with fiery red hair.

Can we say #TeamAussieCanuck?  This should be a good pairing as both have a good sense of humor.  That said, Burgess, known to be a tough coach, will make sure Hinch is doing his dancing.

It is great to see the sport back on the dance floor as the last IndyCar racer to participate on this long running ABC program was Helio Castroneves who won his season in 2007.  “Dancing With The Stars” returns Monday, September 12th, 2016, at 8 PM ET, 7 PM CT on ABC.

I am Mandy and I am a huge indycar fan with interest in F1 as well. If it is open wheeled chances are I am a fan. My first race every was and Indy 500 back in my freshman year of high school. I was a band kid and we got to go to march the race. Needless to say, I caught the racing bug and have been watching ever since. I enjoy tracks I can camp at as I enjoy hanging out with other fans and waking up trackside.
