Citizen Soldier 400 Predictions & Analysis

Last year, Jimmie Johnson came to Dover and, well, it was not pretty. He failed to advance in the Chase while Kevin Harvick needed to win, and did. Anything can happen when Miles the Monster is in town.

Jimmie Johnson is certainly looking for the bad luck to run out, and his past few races at Loudon in the fall have bee quite nice to him. Can he capitalize on the speed of last week and avoid pit road penalties this weekend and score a solid finish? Can Kevin Harvick bounce back from a poor first round opening?

2016 Chase Drivers’ Stats

This year, Kevin Harvick does not need to win at Dover. Who does need to win? Chris Buescher and Tony Stewart are in must win situations if they want to see their Championship hopes stay alive. Austin Dillon and Jamie McMurray are the other two drivers on the outside looking in but only 5 points back from 11th in the standings, Kyle Larson. All drivers who are not Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick must be attentive all day on Sunday and not get into trouble, or they might just see their championship hopes slipping away.
