Crunching The Numbers: GoBowling at The Glen (Watkins Glen)

2017 NASCAR I Love New York 355 winner from Watkins Glen, Martin Truex Jr.

Watkins Glen – what used to be the final road course of the season in the GoBowling at The Glen is now the middle child; that is, if you count the Charlotte (roval) race in the Playoffs as a road course. This is a place AJ Allmendinger shines, but being a road course ringer is no longer a true thing; these oval guys have come out in full force for many years now! We will see someone shake up the top three drivers this season and earn a spot in the NASCAR playoffs in a few short weeks?

It has been 4 years since Chevrolet has gone to victory lane at Watkins Glen.

It has been 20 races since Chevrolet has been to victory lane. Does this feel like a broken record? Can anyone stop Ford and Toyota? Can anyone stop Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, and Martin Truex Jr.? Is there any life in the rest of the field? I guess time will tell if Chevrolet will score a strike, or strike out in the GoBowling from The Glen.

GoBowling at The Glen Predictions

GoBowling at The Glen (Watkins Glen) Race Predictions

Kyle Busch has truly become quite the road course racer over the years. His teammate, Erik Jones, had a great visit to Watkins Glen last year and hopes to keep that up; but Daniel Suarez looks to better his podium finish by moving up a few rungs this weekend and sneaking his way into the playoffs. This is also a great opportunity for AJ Allmenginder to nab a Playoff spot, or even Clint Bowyer to add another victory to his resume this season.
