KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Connor Mosack will be racing a doubleheader in the ARCA Menards and NASCAR XFINITY Series this weekend at Kansas Speedway.

Mosack will first compete in the ARCA Series race on Friday evening ahead of Saturday’s Xfinity race, and has shown notable speed early in the weekend, qualifying fourth for the ARCA race. Mosack spoke about what it takes to be successful at Kansas and how he approaches the track.

“I think this is a big momentum track,” Mosack said. “Just being able to keep your minimum speed up in the corners is really crucial, so that’s kind of what we’ll work on our balance in practice to make sure we can do that but the track is wearing out more and more especially as today’s race will be on the warmer side so my guess is the track will move up towards the wall and whoever can run that top lane the best is going to be the guy to beat also.”

As the Charlotte, North Carolina native is getting more comfortable with the Xfinity Series, Mosack reflected on the success he has had in the Trans Am TA2 series, and what he feels he has been able to learn from his time in the series.

“TA2 was good just learning how to run up front with those guys,” Mosaic said. “I raced for Scott Lagasse and Scott Lagasse Jr. and they both were super helpful for me, both learning how to be faster but also how to have race craft and how to plan a weekend start to finish, practice, qualifying all the way through the race.

“I feel like that was a big help for me, and still am able to lean on those guys today. Confidence, too, always helps as well.”

Thus far, Mosack has shown his prowess on the road courses in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, primarily racing for Sam Hunt Racing. Then again, he would like to covet success on the ovals, the primary kinds of tracks in stock car’s top levels.

Considering Mosack’s later start in racing at age 19, the now 24-year-old Charlotte, North Carolina has picked up quickly. He looks to parlay his ability to adapt to the situation in lightning fast fashion to be a consistent frontrunner in the NASCAR XFINITY Series.

For now, Mosack, who partook in a mini golf event kicking off the Kansas Speedway race weekend, got off to a winning start ahead of his Toyota Racing teammates.

After his successful mini golf play, Mosack also mentioned how the transition between series has been like as he adds more time with the XFINITY Series.

“It’s been tough,” Mosack added. “It’s kind of like you almost need a full year to learn and get where you need to be and then the second year you can start really performing well, so I haven’t really had that second year yet in these higher series, I’m starting to get there with ARCA because it’s my third year running ARCA but I only ran four or five races the first two years.

“So, it’s definitely been a big learning experience, I feel like I’m starting to get comfortable with the cars, get comfortable with the tracks and also with my team, I think that the chemistry you build with your guys matters a lot too.”
