BRISTOL, Tenn. — Due to inclement weather in the hills of Bristol, Tennessee, NASCAR has canceled the practice and qualifying sessions for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. As a result, Daniel Hemric has earned his first career Truck Series pole position according to the NASCAR rule book for Friday night’s Weather Guard Truck Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The starting lineup for Friday’s 250-lap race at the 0.533-mile concrete short track will be determined by the NASCAR Rule Book, which specifies the performance metric set from the series’ previous race at Martinsville Speedway on March 28.

Hemric, who secured his first CRAFTSMAN Truck Series victory in the last race at Martinsville Speedway, earned a $50,000 bonus from the Triple Truck Challenge. He also has the opportunity to win an additional $100,000 with a victory in Friday night’s Truck Series event.

McAnally-Hilgemann Racing has locked out the front row as Hemric’s teammate, Tyler Ankrum, will start his No. 18 Chevrolet Silverado from second position.

Chandler Smith begins his Bristol quest in third with Corey Heim, who has already claimed two victories in the young season at Daytona International Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway, starting fourth, followed by ThorSport Racing’s Jake Garcia filling out the top 5 starting positions.

Ben Rhodes, Stewart Friesen, Ty Majeski, defending Bristol winner Layne Riggs, and Andrés Pérez de Lara make up the rest of the top 10 starters.

Hendrick Motorsports development driver Corey Day is back for his fourth consecutive race with Spire Motorsports, starting in 29th alongside the No. 02 Young’s Motorsports entry of Nathan Byrd.

Parker Kligerman is seeking redemption after facing disqualification for failing a post-race inspection, despite having initially scored victory in the season-opening race at Daytona, starts shotgun on the field, 35th on the grid, driving the No. 75 Chevrolet Silverado for Henderson Motorsports.

The Weather Guard Truck Race at Bristol Motor Speedway will air live on FS1 at 7:30 pm ET, NASCAR Racing Network Radio, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
