At the conclusion of the 2019 NASCAR season, many fans left wondering what was next for Front Row Motorsports. With David Ragan revealing his retirement in August and Matt Tifft facing medical issues in October, this left two rides open.
Of course, Silly Season rumors speculated on the hirings and firings, per usual. But the news on December 12 put the whisperings to bed and the light finally shone on the FRM plans.
First of all, the organization shared it would scale back to two cars after only one season as a three-car team.
Secondly came the naming of the drivers. Michael McDowell, along with crew chief Drew Blickensderfer, will return to the No. 34. This will mark year two for the duo.

In addition, John Hunter Nemechek, who was the substitute for Matt Tifft in the final three races of the 2019 season, is slated to drive the No. 38 full-time. He will have crew chief Seth Barbour in command.

Furthermore, Rocky Ryan, preciously Ragan’s spotter, will move to become McDowell’s ‘eye in the sky’ on race days. Chris Osborne will join FRM as Nemechek’s spotter.
Moreover, Nemechek will race for the Cup Series Rookie of the Year along with at least three other drivers.
While there is no word yet on new or returning sponsors, it is likely that information will crop up over the next few months.
In all, having inked these contracts, this allows the two teams to now turn their full attention to 2020 as they set goals and prepare to start the season strong at Daytona.
