GAINESVILLE, Fla. On a crisp Friday evening at Gainesville Raceway, Greg Anderson made history with a record-setting pass that left the NHRA world in awe. The veteran Pro Stock driver clocked a staggering 6.443-second run at 212.06 mph, officially marking the quickest pass in the category’s history.
Anderson lined up alongside fellow 14-time Pro Stock series competitor Dallas Glenn to race down the quarter-mile drag strip. Glenn clocked a time of 6.466 seconds, achieving a slightly faster overall speed of 212.56 mph, to Anderson’s 212.06 mpg run despite their close competition.
The monumental moment came during qualifying at the prestigious Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals, one of the sport’s most iconic events. As temperatures dipped and track conditions aligned perfectly, Anderson’s HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro roared down the quarter-mile, setting a new benchmark for performance in Pro Stock competition.
The 63-year-old veteran broke the previous record for the quickest run in Pro Stock competition, previously held by Erica Enders. Enders’ record, which stood at 6.450 seconds, had been set in 2022 at this same dragstrip in Gainesville.
“This is one of those moments you dream about as a racer,” Anderson said in a post-run interview after the historical pass. “We knew the conditions were prime, but to see a number like that pop up on the board—it’s just incredible. Everything came together at the right time, and we made history.”
Racing under the lights at Gainesville Raceway, Anderson’s KB Titan Racing team found the ideal setup to extract maximum performance. Cooler air increased horsepower, and the track’s well-prepped surface provided the necessary grip for a flawless run.

“We’ve been working toward something like this for a long time. This class is so competitive, and it takes the right combination of power, precision, and execution to make a run like that happen.”
The previous national record stood for several years, but Anderson’s historic pass shattered expectations. His competitors, already pushing their machines to the limits, now have a new target to chase.
The Gatornationals has long been a proving ground for NHRA legends in the sport’s 74-year history, and Anderson’s accomplishment adds to its storied history. From the first 300-mph runs in Top Fuel and Funny Car to countless record-breaking performances, Gainesville has been the stage for some of drag racing’s most iconic moments.
“This place has always been special, there’s something about Gainesville—the energy, the track conditions, the history—that brings out the best in racers. I’m honored to add my name to that legacy.”
With the top qualifying spot secured, the driver of the No. 1 now turns his attention to eliminations, where he’ll look to convert his record-breaking speed into a Gatornationals victory. However, the competition is fierce, and every driver in the Pro Stock field will be looking for an edge on Sunday afternoon.
“The job isn’t done yet, we came here to win, and that’s still the goal. The record is incredible, but now we have to finish the job on race day.”
As the 2025 NHRA season progresses, Anderson’s performance at Gainesville has set the stage for what could be one of his most dominant years yet. With his Camaro displaying record-breaking speed and his team perfecting every detail, Pro Stock competitors are on alert—Greg Anderson is leading the charge for 2025.
