LINCOLN, Ala. — It’s been an up-and-down past couple of weeks for the driver of the No. 21 Wood Brothers Ford Mustang Dark Horse, as Josh Berry looks to get back on the right track, starting in eighth position for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Berry looks to turn around his subpar finishes at the Cup Series level at the 2.66-mile superspeedway, finishing 16th and 36th in both races in 2024 respectively.

The Hendersonville, Tennessee native qualified his Ford to the outside of the fourth row, lining up against the No. 2 entry of Austin Cindric for Team Penske.

The sophomore driver was the seventh quickest driver in the field during Saturday’s qualification session, but ultimately fell back to eighth after Zane Smith snagging his first-career Cup Series pole.

The last four races since Berry’s first NASCAR Cup Series win have not been favorable to the driver of the No. 21, resulting in finishes of 17th, 32nd, 36th, and 12th, which leaves him 17th in the regular season points standings.

The 34-year-old short track star aims for his first drafting track victory, which would also mark Wood Brothers Racing’s 102nd win as a Cup Series organization.
