BRISTOL, Tenn. — In dominating fashion, Kyle Larson won the SciApps 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway for his first win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025.

Larson led 277 of the 300 laps, scored the Stage 2 victory and lapped the field up to 12th place when the checkered flag waved to end the race.

“Just another really good car,” Larson said. “I just love this place, especially in (the NASCAR) Xfinity (Series). You can move around in traffic and it’s a lot of fun.”

Despite winning in dominating fashion, Justin Allgaier at different points throughout the race looked like he may have something for the win, including at the beginning of the final run. Larson credited being able to take the lead and build a gap through lapped traffic to help him claim the win.

“Justin (Allgaier) did a good job of kind of hanging with me there that last run, so the pressure was on a little bit,” he said. “We just had a good enough car to get to the lead, stay in the lead and be really good in traffic.”

It was also a special win for Larson and all of Hendrick Motorsports after the passing of Jon Edwards, who was a PR representative and beloved friend to everyone at HMS.

“It’s awesome,” he said on being able to win this weekend for Edwards. “I wish I could have won last night, but just came up a little bit short. Cool to get a win this weekend for Jon (Edwards) and everybody who’s been a part of his life.”

Finishing in second and matching a career best finish was Carson Kvapil, who started the race in the third position. After falling back a little during the first stage, Kvapil’s car began coming to life in the final two stages of the race, but just had too much lapped traffic to maneuver through in the closing laps to battle for the win.

“We just kept working on it and made it better and better every pit stop,” said Kvapil. “I felt like toward the end we had a pretty fast car, but there was just so much traffic, it was hard to really get into a good rhythm.”

Allgaier, who finished in third place, took home the Dash 4 Cash prize and qualified for next week’s event at Rockingham Speedway alongside Kvapil, Sammy Smith, who finished in fourth place and Brandon Jones, who came home in fifth.

Even with winning the Dash 4 Cash, Allgaier was disappointed to not reach Victory Lane, especially after taking the lead on the final restart of the race. He thought his No. 7 team just needed a little more pace to keep up and get through the lapped traffic as good as Larson could.

“I’m just bummed about the day a little bit, to come out of here in third,” said Allgaier. “I got out front there, and I just felt like we needed a little bit more to keep up with Kyle (Larson). He was obviously really good, and his pace in traffic was phenomenal.”
