LONG POND, Pa. —Layne Riggs has a clear view through the windshield of his No. 34 Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Ford F-150, representing Front Row Motorsports. He achieved his first pole position in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series during Friday afternoon’s qualifying session, leading the field to the green flag for the MillerTech Battery 200 at Pocono Raceway.

Riggs achieved a lap speed of 169.409 mph to secure the pole position for Front Row Motorsports, marking his first pole after 42 starts in the series.

The defending Truck Series Rookie of the Year from Bahama, North Carolina, is still striving for his first win of the 2025 season. After 13 races, he currently ranks eighth in the standings, 35 points above the provisional playoff cut line as crunch time has begun with just five races to go in the regular season before the opening round of 10 races at Darlington Raceway on August 30.

Kaden Honeycutt backed up another impressive qualifying performance, as he will start to Riggs outside for the 80-lap showdown at “The Tricky Triangle.”

Defending Pocono winner Corey Heim qualified third, with Carson Hocevar and Tanner Gray completing the top 5.

Gio Ruggiero, Andrés Pérez de Lara, Rajah Caruth, Brandon Jones, and Patrick Emerling, making his first start in the Spire Motorsports “All-Star” No. 07 Chevrolet Silverado RST, rounded out the top 10 fastest trucks on the Pocono Raceway property.

Despite pacing the only practice session earlier on Friday, Connor Mosack qualified his No. 81 Chevrolet for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in the 12th position. Meanwhile, Chandler Smith, who recorded the second-fastest time in practice, will start two rows behind Mosack in 15th place.

Defending race winner at Michigan International Raceway, after snapping a 72-race winless streak, Stewart Friesen will begin his Pocono pursuit from the 13th position.

Truck Series rookie contender Dawson Sutton and Clayton Green suffered incidents during qualifying, after both trucks collided with the outside SAFER barrier during their runs. Two-time Truck Series champion Ben Rhodes also didn’t turn a lap during qualifying. Green will start 33rd, Rhodes in 34th, and Sutton in 35th.

“This is the last place I thought I’d get the pole (award) at,” Riggs said following his impressive qualifying run. “Super proud of these guys, we hit it right on the money.”

The MillerTech Battery 200 at Pocono Raceway will air live on FS1 at 5:00 p.m. ET, with radio coverage provided by the NASCAR Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Channel 90.
