Meyer Shank Racing is back at Mid-Ohio, and hoping for a little hometown advantege. The IMSA Weathertech Sports Car Championship will run race number 4 at Mid-Ohio
This is the first home race for MSR with the new No. 60 Acura ARX-05 DPi. This race is big for MSR and they hope to represent Acura well in the their backyard
Olivier Pla will make his debut at Mid-Ohio, and to prepare for this race, Meyer-Shank Racing had a one day test
“I’m looking forward to racing at Mid-Ohio as it will be the home race for MSR and my first race around this track.” said Pla. “We tested here, so I had the chance to learn the track which I actually quite like. As always, the race will be super tight and intense and we’ll focus on managing traffic the best we can.
Experience
The experience at Mid-Ohio for MSR comes from Dane Cameron after having won with the Penske Acura in 2019. Cameron now hopes to add a second Mid-Ohio win to his resume and to give MSR it’s first hometown victory.
“Mid-Ohio should be a good place for us to build on the momentum of our Sebring podium. Said Cameron. Plus we were able to give Oli (Pla) a few extra laps for his first race at Mid-Ohio. Camron added, I know the ARX-05 is well suited to the track, so it presents a good opportunity to get that first win.
Cameron said it would be extra special to do it in Acura and Meyer Shank Racing’s backyard.”
The Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio is set for a green flag start on Sunday, May 16 at 2:30pm ET on NBCSN.
