HARRISBURG, Pa. — For the past 47 years, the Hostetter family have delighted racing and automotive enthusiasts by bringing the thrills of motorsports and car culture during those cold winter days of mid-February with Motorama. On Feb. 15-16, 1978, the Harrisburg Indoor Motorcycle Championship came to fruition when Armin Hostetter brought his passion for motorsports to fans longing for high speed action in the comforts of an indoor venue.

Since 1978, Motorama has expanded from arenacross racing to include go-karts, quarter midgets, and RC or scaled racing throughout the weekend. The Hostetter family, namely with Armin and his sons, Brad, Barry and Perry, continually build upon Motorama’s successes to be the premier racing and car culture event of the winter. Today, Motorama is the largest indoor racing event and live show featuring 1 million square feet of action.

Motorama encompasses all 30 acres of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center with car shows, a beauty pageant, vendors, live music and much more to entertain anybody who loves cars, racing or looking for family fun. From works of arts with accessorized pickup trucks to classic muscle cars that can rev up anyone’s engine, Motorama is sure to entertain even the newest or novice of automotive fanatics in your circles.

On Saturday, Feb. 17, Jennie Mae Lingle, Staff Photographer, paid a visit to find out what Motorama was all about. Now, check out her perspectives of this unique, yearly event in this photo gallery!
