Labor Day Classic Pressed on at Port Royal Speedway

PORT ROYAL, Pa. — Labor Day weekend often means plentiful racing action around the country. From the stock car madness at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, South Carolina, to the Labor Day Classic at the famed Port Royal Speedway, there is something for everyone who enjoys the dirt track variety.

On Monday, Sept. 3, fans were treated to entertaining action featuring sprint cars, dirt late modified cars and of course, classic cars from yesteryear. Common folks doing uncommon deeds delighted the Port Royal faithful to hours of high octane paradise even after enduring over seven inches of rain in a four-hour span last Thursday that resulted in flash flooding in the county.

Persevering through the challenging conditions to drier but humid weather, the Labor Day Classic pressed on. Jennie Mae Lingle was there to capture every moment in a gallery for the dirt track aficionados.
